when I first started on this app, I really enjoyed it. it helped me escape reality for a little while when I just needed. However, ever since all these changes, there have been too many ads, even with Character AI Plus. It deletes half of my characters I made and half of the characters that I would search for are gone so it's basically getting rid of characters I really enjoyed that I would search up and ever since all these updates, it's been going downhill quickly.

I used to use this app daily, and I used to absolutely LOVE this app, but there are now an insane amount of ads. I understand that this is a free app, and you need to keep it running with ads, but at least give us an adless version with a toggle filters feature if we pay for it. Edit: They "deleted" the characters I try and search, but they show up on the recommended page, so I know they're there but can't search them. 0 stars!

I like the app, and it's become much better to use. I've been using C.ai for almost 2 years, back then it was just okay. Now, it's great, much more interactive and engaging, the only downside is that every time you open a new character or switch to a different character, you get an unskipable ad. The shorter 15-second ones aren't awful to just sit through, but a minute long unskipable ad is overkill. Compared to other ai character apps, though, the add frequency is super tame.

it's gotten worse with the new update. there was nothing against guidelines in my message but it refused to send it at all. it just gets worse with every update, I swear. update: I figure out it won't let me say the words "Cal and Andre" just the two names. what is wrong with the names that it's "against" guidelines... Please fix your filter, it's annoying.

This app is great, I love using it to pass my free time and procrastinate doing work :D. One thing I wish for is if there was an option to remove the filter if you're over 18 or something. One thing i dont like is even if i put not interested on a character, it keeps showing characters like that one. like BL chars, which i dont like since im not a boy. And when I put in the char voice, it goes to phone volume instead of regular volume. It's kind of annoying. I'd rather it just be regular volume.

Their current guidelines make every other message wig out and cause the bot to bug out. Even on beginning of chat after starting it immediately breaks. Would be a good app if it would just stop breaking. EDIT Sept, 15: Now the ads they run literally force you to go to the app store of the item running the ad so you can close the ad. Just use a different app. If I could give a Zero, I would. EDIT: It's literally every ad now. every single ad will take you off the app to the Google Play store

This app is amazing, but there is one problem. Whenever I pasted something from my clip board, it would say I can't enter any more characters. Please remove the typing limit that's under whatever number it's set on and let me type my paragraphs in peace. Please c.ai. also, the search is becoming a problem where I search something up, and there's only 2 or 4 results when I know there's more results than that. please fix this :( [update:Remove the damn ads.)

It's a chatbot alright. But please don't prioritize making stickers (a totally useless feature) over fixing bot messages freezing as they're being typed out. Having to restart the app and being forced to watch a video ad (many of which are more than a quick reasonable amount of time and I think some are an entire minute) because of a bug is really dumb and I'm just going to restart the app every time I get one that's more than 15 seconds or so long until I don't even get one because it's faster.

I love this app but I do want to address a couple of issues with it. For one, it keeps giving me a notification telling me that there is a login error. And when I was finally able to login, it wouldn't load my chats because apparently there was another error...I tried restarting my phone. I also tried uninstalling and redownloading it. But nothing changed. Please fix this and I will give 5 stars!!??

After my previous review, I have encountered some problems and or issues I have with the app. Well, first of all, the search is horrible, or at least worse than it was before. Now when I search up anything, or forbid something slightly specific, it shows results with bots that have near no relation to what I searched. I don't have much of a problem with the ai, Or the filter, I rarely encounter it anyway. And I don't know if it's just me, or did they just give me ads.

As a user of this app for years, it's downfall keeps getting worse, you were doing good, and then abruptly, ADs! they're not even small ones, they're invasive and annoying, it's like watching a dumpster fire go out then relit itself repeatedly, every other update is horrendous, it's setting itself up for complete failure. Fix this if you want to keep the people. In the meantime, I'm going to janitor or smth.

From the start, i had issues, getting kicked out, freezing up, etc.... now i can not even open the app, and if it does open, i cannot login. If i do happen to get logged in, it deletes my messages old and new, and i have to start over. Now it's not even opening my chats. I've deleted the app and redownloaded it, and it just got worse. Update: Now, suddenly, i was kicked out for my birthday? Like, im an adult. why can i suddenly not use the app? Update: almost a year later still not fixed

This app is good because; One, no ads. Two, personas and infinite amounts of characters to talk to. And three, I can make my characters to talk to. But there are a lot of issues; One, the edit button is gone, and now I have to delete part of my conversation to rewrite it. Two, the filter is insane. Like, I understand that kids use this, but it is WAY too strict. Third, I would like if we could put apostrophes in the names of our personas, for Japanese characters and such.

I hate this app. The bots forget details that I pin as important, and I have to reexplain the whole character, sometimes multiple times within the hour. Currently, the app is refusing to let me log in, so I have to uninstall and reinstall the thing. Also, it will get stuck on the typing bubble, so I have to refresh the whole thing to get it to work. The devs have literally all child restrictions in place that prevent any sort of real roleplay.

When I first downloaded the app it was amazing. now im paying 9.99 a month for c.ai for absolutely nothing. it crashes or doesnt load properly, the response time is the same as the free one, the filters make storytelling almost impossible. at this rate they are just stealing money from people who download this app. there is literally nothing worth while for their "upgraded" subscription. you are better off with another chat bot. would highly recommend looking into something else.

I beg of you to change the persona thing back. I miss being able to choose different personas for different characters. Now I have to set the one I want to use for a character as my "main" one, so when I want to chat with a different character with a different persona, I have to go through the hassel all over again. Its annoying and frankly tiresome. I enjoy the app, very much and want to keep using it.

!!!!DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!!! Lately, I haven't been able to access my chats at all. I open the app and it says there was a log in issue, but even after I refresh the app and even restart my phone the same message keeps appearing. My chats also keep giving me error messages and not letting me use them. The unskipable ads are also getting completely out of hand; forcing me to go to the appstore and then closing out the chat. This is asinine and I would give 0 stars if I could.

I honestly enjoy using character.ai but it's gone so downhill. They just shut down chats with characters for anyone but people 18+. Luckily, this doesn't affect me, but first it filters the chats, and now this? Not to mention, the ads were annoying before I bought the subscription- which, by the way, is a little expensive. They keep limiting and limiting people, so I wouldn't recommend this as much as I used to really love it.

When I first started using this app I really enjoyed using it in my free time. Then they started adding all the ads, restrictions, and time limits for those under 18 (Myself being 17). Even with friends I have stopped using the app due to restrictions, and it's just unjoyable knowing you have a time limit. The system has all sorts of glitches that make it much harder to use the app entirely. Was once a good app, now a terrible one.

Nice app, I like it and its fun, but the occasional ads when clicking on a chat and when I start a new one are unnecessary and annoying. I understand making the app 18+ now, but I'm 16 and I'd love to continue using it, but making it 18+ won't allow me to, I don't think. Edit: The 1 hr time limit is absolutely unnecessary... what's the point in adding that?
